Your FREE guide to greener outdoor buys & brands

by jradmin

As outdoors people, we’re already heavily invested in the environment. We’re out in it more often, we see the difference it can make to our mental and physical health, and how valuable it is as a resource – not just to enjoy, but how soil, sun, air and water powers all of life. Sooner or later, many of us get interested in the place we play – not just the play itself. And, as consumers we end up asking; at what cost? We ask questions about the kit and clothing we need: where is it made, how and by whom?

It’s now more obvious that customers care, but it wasn’t always that way. We suggested a guide like Green Leaders last year, but it didn’t happen. Twelve months later, and there’s a momentum around these issues that’s impossible to ignore. Visiting the outdoor trade show ISPO in Munich at the beginning of 2018, brands were no longer nervous to talk about their environmental impact – in fact, they wanted to tell us what they were doing to reduce it.

In this guide, we profile just a few who are improving standards, innovating out of necessity and reaping the rewards with newly loyal customers as a result. Including Setting the Standard, Eco Profiles from Jack Wolfskin, Vaude, Fjällräven, Grangers, Marmot, and Polartec. We All Live Downstream covering water pollution and protection. Good for the Goose discussing ethical insulation and the all-important Gear Guide.
