Lupine Piko R
The Piko X4 boasts a headline lumens figure of 1,900. That’s probably overkill for all but technical mountain descending but impressive none the less. The Piko has a few programmes; I selected one that included a 1,000 lumen option, still very bright but delivering 2.5 hours of burn time. The light pattern is excellent, transitioning smoothly from a very far reaching spot to a usefully wide flood. The lamp is a beautifully engineered all-metal affair – even adjusting the angle is a joy! The battery round the back includes an audible alarm and LED level indicators. The Piko also comes with a Bluetooth remote switch which is great on a bike as you can adjust the light mode from the bars! Questionable utility for running, but still fairly useful as the button’s colour demotes mode… blue for high beam, red for low battery etc. It also comes with all the brackets and straps to make swapping between your head and your bike helmet a cinch.
High spec, high performance with a near 50:50 weight balance for great comfort.
